sam lerner mourns the death of his uncle, michael lerner, Academy Award-nominated actor who died on April 8 at the age of 81. Sam’s Instagram tribute confirmed Michael’s death. It included several photos of his famous uncle throughout his life and career, along with a touching message honoring Michael’s importance to his nephew. Sam even credited Michael with giving him a passion for acting.
“We lost a legend last night,” Sam wrote in his April 9 post. “It’s hard to put into words how brilliant my Uncle Michael was and how influential he was to me. Their stories have always inspired me and made me fall in love with acting. He was the nicest, most confident and most talented guy and the fact that he was my blood will always make me feel special. Anyone who knows him knows how crazy he was, in the best way. I’m very lucky to spend so much time with him, and we’re all lucky to still get to see his work the rest of the time. Rest in peace Michael, enjoy your unlimited Cuban cigars, comfy chairs, and endless movie marathons.”
Michael began acting in the 1960s and received his first major recognition with an Academy Award nomination in 1992 for his role in spy barton. After the big blockbuster role, Michael continued to book all-film jobs, starring in films such as News, blank check AND Godzilla. He is also recognized for his role in 2003. Elfwhile he was there too X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014. In addition to film roles, Michael also has television credits to his name, including Mel Horowitz in Uninformed. His most recent acting credit is in 2019. Frankenstein’s Monster Monster, Frankenstein.
Meanwhile, Sam landed his first film role in 2004. Envywhere he played the son of Ben Stiller AND by Rachel Weisz characters. He has also appeared in shows such as Malcolm in the Middle, Two and a Half Men, Las Vegas, NCIS and more. She started out as a recurring character in the goldbergs in 2014, but was promoted to a main role during season 5.
