Our dear friend and deputy editor of the show Tom has started a wonderful new life Down Under.

“We hope he boomerangs and comes back to us, we are going to miss him so much. He is a great colleague and an even better friend.”

Nadia agreed, “We’re really going to miss him,” and Jane agreed, “It’s going to be so strange without him.”

Kaye closed the show by saying: “We tried to get him in the audience but he wouldn’t do it.

“Don’t worry Tom, we’ll be with you in a minute. Let the champagne pop!”.

It comes after panelist Coleen Nolan arrived at work on Tuesday morning feeling slightly worse after a night of rum and coke the night before.

The 58-year-old star, who revealed she was hungover, held her head in her hands as the show began and the audience cheered.

Ruth Langsford held up her hands and said, “Oh, it’s very kind of you to applaud, but we can [makes a gesture to quieten down]because Coleen feels a little vulnerable.”

Coleen then said, “It’s a bit noisy isn’t it?” Today?’

Ruth joked back, “Well, it’s not for us, but if I’d had five rum and cokes last night, I might feel a bit vulnerable too.”

Coleen then admitted: “I’m sorry, I’m trapped.” As Janet Street-Porter chimed in in typically witty fashion, “No stamina!”

Coleen appeared to have no regrets about her night and said “It was worth it” as she gave the audience a smug smile.

While Janet noted that although Coleen “started out cheerful, she is now broken down”.

Ruth assured Coleen that she had “just an hour” to get over her hangover before she could “sneak” out of the studio.

A viewer who tuned in at home took to social media to call Coleen’s performance “iconic”, as she wrote, “Coleen hangover today from Loose Women is iconic.”

Coleen recently caused a stir on the show when she left her co-presenters confused about how she got revenge on an ex-boyfriend who cheated on her.

Panelists Christine Lampard, Kelle Bryan and Brenda Edwards joined her as they discussed pettiness during a breakup after Shakira recently released a song that appears to be about her ex Gerard Pique.

Coleen told the panel: “The best form of revenge is to be happy,” before opening up about a story about how she became friends with her ex’s new girlfriend.

She said: “I always think to myself, even if sometimes you’re not happy and you cry inside and then they see you again, say hello.

“Her ego can’t take you getting over her, so you feed her ego more if you keep talking about her over and over. I’ve always been someone who seems happy.’

Coleen said she once got revenge on an ex for his behavior but regretted it the next day.

The singer opened up about how one of her former flames cheated on her, and she then decided to be friends with the woman he left her for.

She explained: “We talked and it was good. But she said that every time we met, which is, “He’s never going to do that to me.”

“In the end I thought, what are you saying here? Like I deserve it? You say you’re almost better than me.”

Undeterred by the woman’s words, Coleen told how she then invited her ex-boyfriend over to her house for a “chat”, adding: “I slept with him.”

The admission left Coleen’s panelists gasping before adding: “It gets worse.” Because the next day I went around saying, ‘He did it.

She said: “I felt it was unfair. But I felt she was kidding me. So I was like, ‘Don’t tell me he won’t do it again, because he will,’ so I made him do it, and he did it, and I told her.

“Don’t bother me with that. You see my ex, but don’t rub me girl.”

Christine Lampard laughed and said: “It didn’t take you long to tell them did it?”

Coleen replied: “No, I literally stopped the next morning.”

Loose Women airs Monday to Friday at 12.30pm on ITV.
