He attended one of the most poignant aspects of her funeral, taking her favorite horse, Emma, to say her final goodbye. Pendry will be made a Military Knight of St George’s Chapel today.
The position is unpaid, but belongs to a house in the lower quarter of the castle he owns as long as he can fulfill his duties. For most knights, this means the end of their days.
A source said: “Her Majesty’s late would find it appropriate and comforted.”
