Rihanna will perform “Lift Me Up” at the Oscars

Fresh off her Super Bowl LVII performance, Rihanna is now set to sing the Oscar-nominated song “Lift Me Up.” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the 95th Annual Academy Awards.

The song is Rihanna’s first Oscar nomination. The music of “Lift Me Up” is by Rihanna, Tems, Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Goransson, while the lyrics are by Tems and Coogler.

Other nominees for best song include “Applause” by Tell it like a woman“Hold my hand”. Top Gun: Maverick, “Naatu Naatu” off RRRand “This is a Life” by Everything, everywhere, all at once.

A nine-time Grammy winner, Rihanna has eight multi-platinum albums and 14 singles that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Rihanna’s last album was Antiwhich she published in 2016. The singer stated that she has not released an album since then Anti was “my most brilliant”.

Rihanna announced after her Super Bowl performance that she was pregnant with her second baby.

Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner are executive producers of the Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. The awards ceremony will be streamed live from the Dolby Theater on Sunday, March 12 on ABC and broadcast worldwide.
