In a 2015 interview with Cnn, the former politician said that his wife and children are “the foundation of all the pleasure in life.” And he added: “We now have a large family, we have 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 38 in total. So let’s keep our family together and enjoy family life.”

After Chip and Caron separated in 1979, Chip married Ginger Hodges and had a daughter named Margaret Alice Carter with her on September 23, 1987. However, that marriage ended in divorce in 2001 and Chip would marry his third wife, Becky Payne.
Donnel “Jeff” Carter

Donnel “Jeff” Carter was born on August 18, 1952 in New London, Connecticut. He graduated from George Washington University in 1978 with a degree in geography and a major in “computer mapping,” for Time. Jeff and his former professor founded Computer Mapping Consultants the same year he graduated.
He and his wife, Annette Jen Daviswelcomed three children together: Joshua, Jeremiah, AND James. Sadly, Jeremy passed away at the age of 28 in 2015. He was found unconscious after taking a nap at his house and later died in hospital, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Annette died on September 19, 2021, at the age of 68.

Youngest child and only child of Jimmy and Rosalynn, Amy Carter, arrived on October 19, 1967. He was only 10 when his family moved into the White House. She became famous for her political activism when she was 20 years old. Amy then graduated from Memphis College of Art in 1991. Four years later, she Amy illustrated her father’s children’s book, Little Snoogle Fleejer.
She then earned her master’s degree in art history from Tulane University in 1996. That same year, Amy married a computer consultant. James Gozel and the couple welcomed their son Hugh in July 1999.
