Hasan Minhaj will host this year’s Independent Spirit Awards

Hasan Minhaj has been selected to host the 2023 Film Independent Spirit Awards taking place on March 4 in Santa Monica.

The annual indie-focused awards ceremony will be streamed live on IMDb, the Film Independent’s YouTube channel and other platforms starting at 2pm PT.

“With his unparalleled ability to bring both humor and perception to the issues around us, Hasan Minhaj is the ideal host to help us honor these independent artists,” Josh Welsh, president of Film Independent, said Tuesday. “We can’t wait to see what surprises he has in store for the Spirit Awards on March 4.”

Last year, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman co-hosted the ceremony, which Netflix’s The Lost Daughter took three wins in class, including best feature. This show aired live on IFC and AMC+.
