Channel Nine gives warning to its Married First Sight cast as it regains social media access

The cast of Married At First Sight finally regained access to their social channels this week after Channel Nine took over for the duration of the show.

But Thursday Yahoo! Lifestyle reports that the network has given players a clear warning about how to use their platform.

The publication says that the rapid rise was advised to continue with the show and focus on their futures rather than reigniting feuds with the co-stars.

A source said: “Since the finale aired, the cast has essentially been split in the middle, with both sides leaking stories and moving the media to try and stand out.

“Everything has gotten so childish and Channel Nine is worried that now that everyone has their accounts back, they will use them to stir up the drama and humiliate each other even more.

“The squad was essentially told to stay put and focus on their future instead.”

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for further comment.

Starting Wednesday, the bride and groom will be able to log back into their Instagram accounts and be free to post whatever they want without the approval of Nine’s social media team.

During the show, Nine had the final say on all Instagram events, including wording captions and the ability to respond to direct messages.

“We are very proactive in this area, concerned with the health and well-being of the participants,” the network explained, explaining the rationale behind the movement at the time.

“Due to the level of interest in the contributor’s personal life and the amount of comments on each post, Nine checks all individual MAFS social accounts with their approvals as an added measure to protect them from negativity.”

After gaining access to her account this week, she changed her Instagram bio to “Good luck, good advice.”

Viewers may recall that shortly after Brett called Tamara “vengeful, hateful, and selfish,” the last thing he said in his constant vows was strong words.

Brent said his words just before he threw himself into the air and dashed off the set as Tamara looked forward in shock.
