Cinema is not for everyone: why the movie “Blonde” about Monroe was nominated for “Golden Raspberry”

The film critic explained why the film claims eight out of nine nominations.

Anti-price “Golden Raspberry” named the main contenders for the title of the worst. Unexpectedly for many, the film “Blonde” about Marilyn Monroe was nominated in eight out of nine categories – “Worst Picture”, “Worst Screenplay”, “Worst Remake”, “Worst Director”, “Worst Supporting Actor” and others.

Speaking to PopCornNews, film critic Oksana Agapova said she disagreed with this decision – the film deserves attention.

“Blonde is one of the strongest experimental films. The film attracts attention, this film is not a public film at all. This film does not follow the canons of good melodramas. Some melodramatic moments become even more intense, which is why many people notice constant fights and quarrels. Because of this, the photo was considered too superficial. At the same time, the film language and the entire visual component work in contrast. A complex dramatic story is shown, but it is so experimentally done that you have to squint and turn your head to understand the depth. At the Oscars, I hope this photo will be noticed,” says the connoisseur.
