Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed how she asked strangers on the street to buy their vodka from the corner shop to keep her alcoholism a secret.
The 64-year-old actress has been sober for three years after her family and co-stars stepped in and sent her to Priory when she hit rock bottom.
Now Linda has opened up about the pinnacle of her alcohol battle – revealing that she used to drink a bottle of wine every night and turn to strangers for her booze until one day it proved that drinking crunch worked.

In 2018, Linda became addicted to alcohol after being prescribed a drug to ease her depression – leading to three rehab stints.
“I would get money and say, ‘Sorry, I lost my key and I can’t get out.’ ‘Can you bring me a bottle of vodka around the corner?’ ‘ she told Woman’s Own.
A few people did it, but one day I asked a man to do it, and it turned out he was from an alcohol crisis center who called my family to come help me.

Linda trades wine for a cup of tea these days when she goes out with her Loose Women friends.
The TV star opened up about her struggles on Loose Women earlier last year.
She said: “I went through a very difficult time, I was depressed and I turned to alcohol and I had OCD.
“I had a glass of wine or spritzer in the evenings, I came in at 10pm, but never during the day. And then I got medication that made me a little angry.

“I was put on a certain medication that was supposed to help with my depression but it didn’t just make it worse so I had to go to 3 different facilities and it was the worst time of my life, I completely lost my family’s life devastate. “‘
Recalling a certain low point, Linda referred to a trip she took with other Loose Women friends – from which she had to return home early.
She explained: “We were in Ibiza and I broke down in front of all the girls. Stacey had to drive me home and she took me to the priory.”
“I had really bad depression and I hurt myself. I cleaned everywhere and washed my sheets every night when I got home.”
After recovering from the traumatic period, Linda went on to reveal that she hasn’t had any alcohol in three years and she still doesn’t miss it.
When talking about how she manages to keep her OCD at bay, she shared that keeping busy is important – taking your mind off of it.
Linda previously explained that alcohol was not the core issue when she found out she was ill during one of her rehab bouts – after an allergic reaction to the antidepressant she was taking, which was responsible for much of her erratic behaviour.
