American actor Bruce Willis sold his Caribbean residential compound on the island of Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos for 27 million dollars.
The transaction was recorded as the second highest residential sale in the territory at the time, according to reports in The Times of India citing the Los Angeles Times and Architectural Digest. The buyer was Mark Ein, a billionaire entrepreneur and founder of Capitol Investment Corp.
The property had originally been listed on the market in March 2019 with an asking price of 33 million dollars, according to the Los Angeles Times report cited by the Indian newspaper. The final agreement represented a price reduction of 6 million dollars from the initial listing.
Real estate agents Nina Siegenthaler and Joe Zavaglia of Turks & Caicos Sotheby's International Realty handled the transaction. At the time, the price was surpassed only by a nearby estate in Grace Bay, which had sold earlier that year for 32.5 million dollars, according to figures compiled by The Times of India.
Property design and construction history
The origin of the estate dates back to the year 2000, when Willis purchased an undeveloped plot of land measuring approximately 2.95 hectares, according to land registry records cited by the Los Angeles Times and Architectural Digest. Architectural Digest reported that Willis spent the following four years supervising the construction of three independent wooden homes spread across roughly 335 meters of white-sand beach.
The main six-bedroom residence served as the central hub of the complex. Its design featured high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and large glass doors facing the ocean. Two guest villas were built alongside the main house to offer private, independent accommodation for family and friends.
The interior living spaces totaled approximately 1,254 square meters. When including covered porches and outdoor terraces, the total surface area exceeded 3,251 square meters. Each residence had its own swimming pool, while a fourth pool designed for children was located within a fenced play area.
The project also incorporated a beachfront yoga pavilion, a service annex featuring a professional kitchen for catering, and private staff quarters. The outdoor grounds included a paved children's recreation area fitted with a full-sized pirate ship.
Family retreat and island amenities
When the property was offered for sale, Willis and his wife, Emma Heming Willis, explained in a statement released by Sotheby's International Realty that they had fallen in love with Turks and Caicos from the moment they arrived. According to the statement cited by The Times of India, the couple noted that the privacy of the island enabled them to build a sanctuary to bring their family together.
The couple renewed their wedding vows at the estate in March 2019, shortly before announcing the sale. Parrot Cay is a private island of approximately 405 hectares, located a 35-minute boat ride from Providenciales.
Architectural Digest highlighted the island's privacy and security as primary characteristics of the enclave. Property owners on the island also gain access to amenities provided by the luxury resort managed by COMO Hotels and Resorts, including wellness treatments, private dining, and butler service.
