Fashion blogger Anita Gloss has named slingbacks the most fashionable shoes of the season. She shared the pick on the Telegram channel Russian Fashion, which has 199,000 subscribers.
Gloss said the open-heeled slingback was the season's top favorite, combining French chic with practicality. She said the style looks elegant and elongates the silhouette thanks to its neat toe shape.
Materials and colors to choose
Gloss advised paying close attention to texture and material when picking slingbacks. She said the most successful options are made from soft suede, fine patent leather, or crocodile-embossed leather. She named deep burgundy, rich chocolate, milky white and liquid silver as the season's trending shades.
The toe shape also matters, according to Gloss, who said soft almond-shaped and sharp pointed toes have both come back into fashion.
How to style slingbacks
Gloss recommended pairing slingbacks with relaxed oversized suits and wide, floor-length jeans. For evening occasions, she said she pairs them with flowing midi skirts and silk dresses. She added that her favorite styling trick right now is wearing the shoes with thin textured knee-high socks or sheer nylon socks.
