Community leader Betxí Malva has died after being shot five times during a gunman attack at a property in San Juan de Miraflores on Friday.

The shooting took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. at block B, lot 15 of the Jesús El Divino 17A housing group, located within the La Rinconada urban area of the district. Emergency responders transported Malva to a nearby health facility following the assault, where medical personnel confirmed her death from multiple gunshot injuries.

Police officers and municipal security personnel who inspected the premises recovered 14 shell casings from the surrounding area, indicating that hitmen fired repeatedly at the commercial building.

Police response and crime scene investigation

Two officers from the local Serenazgo municipal security force arrived at the property around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an armed attack against a resident of the area. Upon reaching the location, the security patrol coordinated with law enforcement officers who had already begun preliminary checks at the site.

An officer from the Pamplona II Police Station stated that multiple gunshots had been targeted directly at the establishment. Officers cordoned off the crime scene to examine the building and collect evidence, including the 14 shell casings left at the scene.

The National Police of Peru has taken full charge of the investigation and is conducting formal proceedings to determine the motive behind the fatal assault and locate the perpetrators.
