Speaking to news outlet Metro about the viral discussion, Krapsley-Fox noted that the habit of smoking attracts interest through a combination of visual presentation, psychological association, and cultural background.
She explained that smoking represents a slow, deliberate, and performative process that can be perceived as sexual. Krapsley-Fox added that the lips are one of the most sensitive and intimate areas of the human body, making the visual and physical action of smoking particularly potent for those drawn to it.
