Dry shampoo is a super practical solution to be able to space the shampoos when we lack the time and the desire to make a real one. The problem is that we don’t always know when and how to apply it correctly. As a result, the hair is thick dusty, they quickly become greasy and also form a little dandruff just to complete this beautiful image. To avoid this, it’s simple: it’s all about timing. And not what you think.

The most effective way to apply dry shampoo
No, applying dry shampoo before leaving is not very effective. And it’s the same when you do last minute tweaks here and there during the day or in the evening. The best time to apply this product? In the evening, just before bedtime. At least, that’s what New York hairdresser Ryan Trygstad says, interviewed by the American magazine InStyle. He explains :
“Spray dry shampoo in the evening, before bed, as a preventative measure. At night, your dry shampoo will have plenty of time to absorb excess oil from your hair. Upon awakening, if the traces persist, a light brushstroke is sufficient. “
Beware, a dry shampoo never replaces a real wash
While it would be a dream not to have to wash your hair again, dry shampoo simply cannot replace the use of a real shampoo. How come ? Well, just because it does not wash the scalp ! It doesn’t even remove oils, dead skin cells and pollution residues, according to Dr Anabel Kingsley, interviewed by Byrdie.
She continues:
” Remember that your scalp is skin and it needs a similar pH to be healthy and that hair grows best from a healthy scalp. “
Too bad for us!
