We used to think that summer was not the time for beauty treatments, but sunscreen is our only help. You can’t argue with the second one, that’s really true, but with the first it’s not that simple. Zalina Gurieva, doctor and founder of Bionika Medical Center, talked about what cosmetic procedures can be done even in the sunniest time of the year and what should be considered.

laser hair removal

Usually this process is done in courses, so it takes a long time. And I don’t want to take a break for the summer because it is needed more than ever during the holiday season. But are there any risks? Modern laser hair removal devices are designed with the possibility of an individual approach: the phototype and even the degree of skin tanning are taken into account, so it is quite possible to carry out procedures in the summer. The only thing is that after the procedure it is necessary to take into account all the recommendations of a beautician, such as the use of sunscreen and the application of additional products containing panthenol to the skin. It is undesirable to perform laser hair removal immediately after a vacation at sea – the skin should be allowed to recover from sunburn in a few weeks.
Injection procedures

In summer, the sun becomes most active, the likelihood of dehydration of the skin increases – ultraviolet destroys collagen fibers, which are responsible for elasticity and hydration. Therefore, before the start of the summer season or traveling to hot countries, cosmetologists recommend injecting drugs that prevent the aging process, the appearance of age spots and improve the protective properties of the skin. Usually, after such preparatory procedures, even the tan stands up better. At the same time, it is still mandatory to use sunscreen with a high SPF (minimum 50) and to follow all the doctor’s post-procedure recommendations.
photo rejuvenation

The procedure is based on the propagation of light in different spectrums depending on the indicators. It helps to equalize and homogenize the skin color without pigmentation and vein pattern. In Russia, the procedure appeared 20 years ago, and for a long time it was believed that it can be done only in the autumn-winter period. But in progressive countries where the technique has long been used, it’s done all year round (and often in places with much warmer climates than ours).
Photorejuvenation can be done at any time of the year, be sure to use sunscreen for the entire period of the procedures. The only limitation is to take a two-week break before and after active sun exposure (for example, before and after a vacation at sea).
ship landing

You can use other methods besides photorejuvenation to remove the veins. Now one of the most modern methods is laser exposure. After the procedure, there is practically no crust, so the probability of pigmentation is minimal. By following the doctor’s recommendations and using sunscreen, you can clean blood vessels with a laser at any time of the year.
Pigmentation

The process of getting rid of hyperpigmentation or solar lentigo (small pigment spots on the skin with clearly defined edges – Ed.) is quite long. Pigmentation can occur in the middle layer of the skin (dermis) and appear black or blue, or on the surface (epidermis) – and be brown. The deeper it is, the longer it takes.
If the time to start the procedures is summer, it is recommended to prepare the skin with plasma therapy or injections (mezoxanthin, curasen, novokutan). They contain antioxidants that can normalize cells and prevent the accumulation of melanin. After that you can start phototherapy, be sure to use sunscreen and avoid direct sunlight.
Removal of neoplasms

All of us at least once faced with the problem of the appearance of neoplasms on the skin. There are medical indications for their removal: neoplasm growth, chronic trauma and changes in shape, color, bleeding. If there is at least one of these symptoms, you should immediately contact a dermatologist and remove the neoplasm. If there is no medical indication, but there is a desire to correct the defect in terms of aesthetics, this is also possible. It does not depend on the time of the year, which is subject to high sun protection and follows the doctor’s recommendations.
skin cleansing

In the hot season, the process of sebum secretion becomes more intense – exposure to the sun and high temperatures leads to the expansion of pores and increased oiliness of the skin, and hence the exacerbation of inflammatory processes. It is best to regulate the work of sebum secretion of acids, that is, peelings based on them.
Yes, peeling involves thinning the protective layer of the skin, which can cause increased sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation, but modern cosmetology does not stand still. Now there are peels that take place at the level of the stratum corneum without transmitting the dermis, so they can be done all year round. But you should always remember that even after the most delicate peeling, the obligatory condition is the use of creams containing SPF-50 and limiting exposure to direct sunlight.
