Beauty around us. At least, when we go out, when we go out of social networks, watch the movies, and see the perfect picture with girls’ clean skin, long eyelashes and full lips. To comply with these “norms, you should change your appearance – plastic surgery, cosmetic procedures and of course make up. Cosmetics can be the best friend of the girl or can harm. This article was the second with the author.
I have recently decided to do an experiment and pulled your friends into it. Our group was divided into two camps: for cosmetics and against it. Of course, I fully supported the beauty industry and said that the Machine did not affect my self -awareness. I can live safely without a basic or lip liner. So we decided to come to couples without makeup and to check how comfortable we are.
In the morning, I applied a moisturizer, hygienic lipstick and SPF to facilitate my task and create cosmetic illusion. But when I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that I couldn’t be without a carcass. My eyes looked small and my eyelashes were colorless, so I emphasized the eyelash line, and then I left the house. Of course I lost the dispute.
External factors that affect their perception

We decided to understand why many girls did not perceive themselves without making up and carried out a survey between the ages of 18-25, which is often painted every day. Eyes, eyebrow gel, blush and concealer without imagination without pencil and cosmetic bags are the most necessary products mascara and ton cream (not surprising). “How do you feel without makeup?” We heard such answers: “Like without clothes”, as if it were not me ”,“ I want to wear a mask ”, orum I am ashamed to talk to men”, “very sad and disturbing”, ile with lipstick on a pig ”. The girls identified various factors because they could not refuse makeup.
Social networks and media. Every day we pass through social networks with excellent pictures. The author Naomi Wulf in the book “Legend of Beauty” stated that they created a inferiority complex due to independent images of women’s advertising posters.
Habit. After a long cosmetic use, such an image seems familiar. “With the structure constantly, girls feel brighter and the difference in appearance after removing the makeup may cause them to be rejected,” he replied.
Beauty standards. 800 thousand plastic surgery is performed in Korea every year. Beauty standards have grown so much that there is no time behind the girls, so they change their appearance with the help of cosmetics. One of the participants said that due to the beauty standards applied, the natural appearance of the face seems to be less well -groomed or even distorted in perception.
Complexes. Of course, the most prominent reason is complexes. Every girl finds a deficiency like disproportionate.
Stereotypes. Many believe that a girl should always look at 100. The desire to be perfect forces us to wear cosmetics.
Famous with low self -esteem

Cosmetics also have malicious relationships with celebrities. While perceiving them ideally, the stars arrange their photos, look for flaws and cannot look at themselves in the mirror. Some cult personalities admitted that they were fighting complexes.
For example, in an interview, Angelina Jolie said she suffered for a long time due to low self -esteem. “Sometimes it seems to me that I look like a funny baby.”
Julia Roberts confessed to her opinion that she had an ugly mouth and that curly hair looked like straw. “I want to rewind my life to start with more self -confidence.”
And in an interview, Shakira said, “I want to be higher, have longer legs and thin hips,” he said.
Reasons for the emergence of complexes
Unfortunately, the causes of low self -esteem can be hidden much deeper than it appears at first glance. Psychologist Alen Pavlova said where the complexes came from and why many girls were dependent on their appearance.

Alena Pavlova, Psychologist
Past. Negative experience in the past is about parents. For example, the father did not show love for his daughter properly and explained it to himself with apparently deficiencies. Or one of the relatives of anger spoke negatively about the girl’s appearance. In addition, the issue may be in the habit of parents to compare their children with other children. The negative perception of their appearance may be affected by harsh accommodation in the school age or transition age.
Anxiety. The demand of the 21st century is anxiety. Beautiful paintings from social networks can be compared with the suppression of self -certainty and emotions.
Social fears. When a person’s personal limits are violated, he wants to protect them. The limits of our body are the volume, so you can “strengthen” your cosmetics. It is not a coincidence that bright makeup is traditional to compare it with war coloring. When a person does not have a fundamental sense of security, he wants to cover himself with society.
Illusions. Usually we look for external solutions to internal problems. For example, some like the reorganization of furniture at home. Thus, people are trying to make some changes in their lives, and at the same time they do not risk anything. However, “risk -free” initiatives to meet their real needs and change anything will demand more tricks associated with something external: clothes, tools, jewels or decorative cosmetics. The need to radically change something in your life conflicts with fear of change, fear of failure. It is important to answer the question honestly: “exactly what I want to change – myself, work and a partner.”
If dependence on decorative cosmetics begins to harm you (physical, emotional, social, financial), then it will be difficult to get out of yourself. To facilitate your task, it is better to communicate with a psychologist or psychotherapist specializing in addiction.
Stories of Girls Leaving Cosmetics

California State University performed an experiment. With more than 50 participants, make-up, light make-up and three professional factors, they were evaluated with photographs of 35 girls aged 18-27 years: charm, sexuality and competence. The results showed that girls with bright make -up looked more attractive and sexy. And competent – with a light and strong brand. According to the majority, painted girls are better than their jobs.
Although the experiment shows that people continue to live on the clichés, there are girls who can leave cosmetics and feel confident without making up. They shared their experiences with us.

“I have skin problems, so the cosmetologist suggested to limit the use of cosmetics if possible. I’ve been painting on holidays for the last few months, I use care cosmetics and I can’t paint almost in summer. Maximum – eyelashes and eyebrow gel. After rejection, I noticed that I could be beautiful with both makeup and without him.

“10. I started to deal with feminism in the classroom, the real idea is that the girls are full and without makeup. I noticed that I had spent a lot of time on my complexes, and I thought why they emerged. After rejecting it, I noticed that my friends did not change their attitudes towards me.

“I started to realize that I didn’t perceive myself cosmetics. I thought the guys didn’t make up and that no one shows the lack of appearance. Such an attitude towards girls has become a part of our culture. Therefore, I decided to reject it for a while, I got used to it, and everything was very similar.
Stories inspired me to reject the cosmetics. Of course, it is difficult for me to perceive myself completely without makeup. However, small steps help to get rid of complexes. I have left without making the house lately. Over time, I got used to it and I forgot that there was no carcass at some point. The attitude of friends played a major role. That day, my friends praised me very much and I felt like they loved me for what kind of person I was. Like each of us!
