How can we protect the body during the cold season or who is actually responsible for our immunity?

Friends, do you know why garlic and onion, lemon and cranberries, as well as honey, help treat and prevent colds? What is valuable in these products besides vitamins and antioxidants? They refuse, most importantly, they help our “little friends” – beneficial microflora – strengthen and add strength to the body.

There are three categories of microbes that live inside us (and they far outnumber our own cells):

– “good” or friendly microflora (must be at least 90%);

– opportunistic (they become “harmful” when their numbers increase significantly);

– pathogenic (their activation leads to the development of diseases).

It is the “useful” ones (mostly bifidum and lactobacilli) that provide us with the same immunity, protecting us from the attacks of viruses, pathogenic bacteria and other “evil spirits”. And bacteria, like all living organisms, grow and multiply in suitable living conditions, eating their favorite (type) of food.

What does friendly microflora like?

  • Raw plant fibre. Most of it is found in raw leaves, stems and roots. And that’s just onion and garlic. And also, for example, carrots, cabbage and beets.
  • Bitternesses, which themselves neutralize “bad” microbes, are natural antibiotics and stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and bile (like fiber, by the way). And they defeat most of the “internal attackers” instantly. And these are the same onions and garlic again. Also horseradish, mustard, arugula, radish, cabbage, red and black pepper, turmeric, cloves, bitter herbs.
  • Sour fruits and citrus fruits (lemon or lime are best). They create an optimal environment for beneficial microbes and clean the intestinal walls.

Beneficial microflora also helps us produce energy to fight infection. Honey also does this because it is a high energy product.

Of course, it is very important to pay attention to the nervous system. After all, stress takes up most of the body’s energy resources.

So what should you do to strengthen your immune system and avoid getting sick?

Try adding the following foods to each meal.

1. Raw carrots (or other foods containing healthy fiber).

2. Hot (primarily onion, garlic, turmeric or cloves).

3. One serving of sour fruit a day. 20 minutes before meals or as a separate meal (e.g. cranberries, blueberries, currants).

4. Add and accumulate energy (full sleep and rest, thermal procedures and honey are important).

And as a bonus, get the healthy recipe for the “Golden Milk” drink for immunity.
