Russian fraudster Anna Sorokina, known as Anna Delvey, has attended a New York Halloween party dressed in an outfit made entirely of yellow police tape.

The convicted con artist stepped out at the event in a matching cropped top and mini skirt constructed from caution tape, posing for photographers ahead of the holiday. She paired the striking costume with a clear transparent raincoat, sheer stockings, and a visible prison ankle monitor strapped to her leg.

Delvey also accessorised the outfit with a handheld bag containing a bloody knife. Photographs of the appearance were published on Instagram by the entertainment news website Just Jared, documenting her latest public appearance in the city.

The custom look was created by fashion designer Chris Habana. Habana founded his namesake brand, Chrishabana, in 2008, building a reputation in New York for edgy jewellery, metalwork, and unconventional couture pieces.

Recent hairstyle makeover

The Halloween ensemble follows a significant change in appearance for Delvey earlier in the year. In July, Russian hair stylist Alexey Osipchuk posted photographs online showing that the famous criminal had radically altered her image, opting for an elongated bob hairstyle and bleached blonde locks.

Manhattan socialite scheme

Sorokina first became known around the world after deceiving American financial institutions, luxury hotels, and private acquaintances out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Posing as a wealthy German heiress with a sixty million dollar family fortune, she integrated herself into elite social circles across Manhattan between 2013 and 2017.

During that period, she used fabricated financial records to secure large lines of credit and fund an extravagant lifestyle. A New York state court jury convicted her in 2019 on multiple felony charges, including grand larceny and theft of services, which led to a prison sentence of four to twelve years.

Following her early release from state prison, Sorokina was taken into custody by immigration authorities for remaining in the country on an expired visa. She was later released on bail into house arrest in New York City, where court conditions require her to wear an electronic monitoring device at all times while fighting deportation.
