Philosopher Alexander Dugin has proposed strict censorship for any movie in which the main character lacks a family. Speaking in an interview with news outlet NEWS.ru, Dugin said cultural works centered on single individuals should face tight restrictions.
Dugin, director of the Ivan Ilyin Higher Political School at the Russian State University for the Humanities, said the proposal aims to preserve traditional family values. He stated that all films, pictures, and cultural phenomena where a person acts as an individual without a family must be subjected to the strictest censorship.
Return of Individualist Heroes
The philosopher noted that individualist characters could eventually return to cinema once the challenge of preserving family values in the country becomes less acute. He added that some separate individual figures might eventually be brought back.
Dugin previously expressed support for a new youth trend known as friction-maxing. The movement involves giving up the benefits of modern civilization to gain greater control over one's life and achieve a fuller existence.
