Albert Barranco will return to Honduras as the first confirmed contestant for the third season of Supervivientes All Stars on Spanish television channel Telecinco.
The Catalan television personality, who previously competed on the reality survival show six years ago, was chosen by production company Cuarzo to join the new cast in Cayos Cochinos. The news was first reported as an exclusive by news portal VerTele, consolidating Barranco's position as a regular figure across Mediaset entertainment programming.
Barranco first participated in the 2020 edition of Supervivientes, a season heavily shaped by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. His run ended during an atypical gala after losing an elimination duel to Jorge Pérez. In subsequent studio appearances, Barranco acknowledged that he suffered from severe hunger and found it difficult to adapt to extreme conditions on the island.
Reality television career and dating shows
Before entering reality television, Barranco left his job in an electromechanics workshop to appear on the dating show Mujeres y hombres y viceversa. On that show, the Catalan native, who also considers himself an adopted New Yorker, progressed from a suitor to a featured bachelor during a tenure marked by public romances and media controversies.
His relationship with network Mediaset later expanded when he joined the ninth season of La isla de las tentaciones as a VIP tempter in the Dominican Republic. He featured in one of the season's main storylines and left the program alongside contestant Helena, although the relationship proved short-lived.
Potential cast members for the new season
The confirmation of Barranco begins the announcement of contestants for the upcoming edition in the Caribbean. While official ratification from the network is still pending, several media outlets have reported the potential inclusion of Alma Bollo, Damián Quintero, María Jesús Ruiz, Ivana Icardi, Arkano, Asraf Beno, and Rosa Benito.
