Film distribution and production companies Nashe Kino and Meteor Studio have presented the debut trailer for the new family comedy Adventures of the Little Penguin ahead of its theatrical premiere in Russia on November 12.
The feature film stars prominent Russian actors Valentina Lyapina, Pavel Priluchny, and Roman Kurtsyn in main roles, under the direction of filmmaker Olga Amol.
The narrative centers on Kvi, an adorable penguin living at the Moscow Zoo. Penguin curator Anna pays special attention to Kvi, playing his favorite songs for him and writing a blog about his life in her spare time.
The conflict begins when a famous zoologist arrives at the zoological park and announces that Kvi must be relocated to another city. During his subsequent transport, an unexpected vehicle accident occurs, allowing the little penguin a chance to escape.
Cast and creative team
The cast brings together recognizable performers from recent Russian film and television projects. Pavel Priluchny previously starred in the series Life on Call, Valentina Lyapina appeared in Neurodad, and Roman Kurtsyn featured in My Dad is a Bear.
Director Olga Amol previously helmed episodes of Masha and the Bear: Shorties, a spin-off of the internationally successful Russian children's animation franchise Masha and the Bear. Production partner Nashe Kino operates as a major film distribution company in the Russian cinema market.
The setting of the Moscow Zoo provides the backdrop for the opening acts. Established in 1864, the historic capital institution is one of Europe's oldest zoos and houses thousands of animals across extensive grounds in central Moscow.
