Greek actress and presenter Zeta Makryloulia has spoken candidly about how her relationship with love has changed over the years, in an interview with InStyle magazine conducted by journalist Xenia Ioannou, tied to her new theatrical work.
Makryloulia said that love has changed enormously within her and that she has demystified it entirely. She added that the shift does not trouble her at all and in fact makes her feel better.
She recalled experiencing love with full intensity in her younger years, calling it something she is grateful for. She said she had the kind of excess that most people have, partly due to age, and that she lived it to the maximum, going through joy, elation, hitting rock bottom, hardship and pain, completing what she called the full cycle.
Today, she said, she views things differently and sees how a person’s growth is reflected in the way they handle their emotions. She said it would be a little foolish to fall in love the same way at her current age, and that doing so would mean she had not grown at all.
She added that she can now more easily tell the difference between real love and mere fleeting enthusiasm.
