Dubai Police operate a fleet of supercars and hypercars worth hundreds of thousands, and in some cases millions, of dollars, according to a report by Jalopnik. The outlet found the vehicles have little to do with actual policing and much more to do with public relations.
The fleet presents Dubai as a modern, prosperous city and boosts its image on the world stage, Jalopnik reported. Despite their high performance, most of these cars are rarely, if ever, used for patrols or high-speed pursuits.
Impressing Visitors
Dubai's police chief once told journalists that the luxury vehicles exist to impress people, particularly tourists visiting the city.
Dubai is known globally as a hub of automotive luxury, where expensive cars are a common sight on the streets. The police force's fleet extends that reputation into law enforcement itself.
What's in the Fleet
The Dubai Police fleet includes hypercars such as the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 918 Spyder, along with supercars including the Lamborghini Aventador and the Audi R8. The force also owns a Mercedes-Benz Brabus G63 luxury SUV, a 900-horsepower Lotus Eletre R electric vehicle, and a Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup.
One of the most extravagant vehicles in the collection is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan tuned by the Mansory workshop. Officers also have access to a Mercedes-AMG G63, a Ferrari Purosangue, and a Lamborghini Revuelto with Mansory tuning.
Ferrari's One-Off Supercar
Separately, Ferrari unveiled an exclusive supercar called the CZ26 during Monterey Car Week. The car was built as a single unit for an American client of the company.
The CZ26 is based on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale coupe, retaining the base model's overall silhouette while receiving an original body design.
The supercar runs on a plug-in hybrid system with a combined output of 1,000 horsepower, pairing a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 328 km/h. Its electric-only range is about 25 km.
