Studio MGLA is preparing the first public demo of its game "War of the Worlds: Siberia," which will be shown at the Comic Con Igromir event this December. Visitors to the festival will be among the first to play a short fragment of the game and try out its core mechanics.
The demo episode is set in the Siberian taiga, where the main character, known as the Student, ends up in a small fishing hut on a riverbank and must survive and fight enemies there. Developers said the demo will focus mainly on gameplay and the combat system, without revealing plot details, and the festival fragment will show one combat episode from a separate mission.
Why the demo was made
According to the developers, players had repeatedly asked to try "War of the Worlds: Siberia," and the demo now gives them that chance, though story details will remain outside it. Creative producer Albert Zhiltsov said the team deliberately built a compact, dynamic version of the game so that as many people as possible could experience it. Visitors to Comic Con Igromir will also be able to talk with the development team and learn more about the project.
About the game
"War of the Worlds: Siberia" is a story-driven adventure game set in an alternate version of the late 19th-century Russian Empire. In the story, humanity faces a massive Martian invasion in the summer of 1896, with London as the invaders' first target before alien machines advance on other European capitals. In the autumn, the aliens attack Saint Petersburg, and the main character flees the city for Siberia, where dangerous trials await. The game is published by the Igromir service, with release planned for 2027 on major platforms including Steam.
