U-turn on baby name choice

The mother of four has not yet revealed the name of her newborn son after admitting that she and Matthews changed their minds at the last minute. The couple had originally planned to name their fourth child Elvis after the American rock and roll icon Elvis Presley.

Speaking on her comedy podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me this week, Williams explained that they decided to scrap the name shortly before her due date. "Do you know what? Big news from my week. We have changed our baby name - we have no name," Williams said on the show. "You know the name was pretty full on and I loved the name. Spenny has been getting a few phone calls from family members regarding the name."

Her co-host and comedian Joanne McNally joked about family reactions to names, quipping: "I just don't think Gary is that controversial." Williams acknowledged her hesitation about choosing such a prominent name for a child. "I honestly thought though because it's been on my mind I just, I haven't ever been 100 per cent comfortable with it," she said. "As much as I love the name it's such a big name to take on when you're little or trying to get a job when you're older."

Williams confirmed that while Elvis was her top choice, she is considering other options. "I have got other very cool options, though that was my favourite name," she added, before confirming: "We were going to call the baby Elvis, I love it."

Pregnancy announcement and marriage rumours

The couple first announced they were expecting their fourth child in April through social media. Williams posted photos on Instagram alongside the caption, "BABY NUMBER 4 INCOMING...".

Williams and Matthews tied the knot in 2018. Williams is a well-known Irish media personality, television presenter, and podcast host, while Matthews rose to fame on the British structured-reality television show Made in Chelsea before founding the non-alcoholic drinks brand CleanCo and launching his business project Untapped.

Rumours of marriage troubles surfaced last year after the pair did not publicly mark their seventh wedding anniversary. Speculation intensified after Matthews stepped down from their joint podcast Spencer & Vogue to focus on Untapped.

Williams previously dismissed the divorce rumours as unfounded, insisting in an interview with The Sun newspaper that she and her husband remain happily married. She noted that public speculation began when Matthews departed their joint podcast. "When he left our podcast, everyone was like, 'What's going on?'" Williams recalled.

The presenter stressed that only "their truth" matters to the couple and expressed concern about the impact of public speculation on their young family, admitting she worried about their children hearing "baseless and cruel" gossip at school.
