Ukrainian strikes are gradually eroding Russia but when the war will end remains impossible to predict, banker and retired combat officer Andrii Onistrat said on the LIGA.net podcast “Money of War.”
Onistrat said Ukraine’s “thousand cuts” strategy was physically affecting Russia, though the process was slow. He said the end point could come within a week, a year, or three years.
He said he had recently examined a Russian Shahed drone that attacked Ukraine and found foreign components inside, including parts sourced from the United States and Italy. This showed sanctions against Russia were not working as effectively as they should, he said, and called for increased pressure on Moscow.
Ukrainian strikes reduce Russia’s offensive potential and disrupt its logistics, Onistrat added. He declined to comment on the impact of attacks targeting Wildberries marketplace logistics centers.
On August 2, Ukraine struck the Saratov oil refinery, Engels airfield, an oil depot in Kaluga region, and a drone warehouse in Bryansk region, confirmed by President Zelensky and military officials.
