Dave Chappelle returns Saturday night live this weekend the traditional Thursday show promo with musical guests Black Star and artist Ego Nwodim.
After discussing his Thanksgiving plans with those in attendance in the first sketch, Chappelle promised this week SNL becomes “so black it will be on BET!” The Black Star boys burst out laughing as Chappelle quickly explained, “No, it’s coming here on NBC.”
There was also a nod to the legendary comedian’s controversial side. Nwodim asked if this week’s show was going live. Yes, everyone agreed it would be live. “In this news cycle?” she asked. “Yeah,” Chappelle said, giving the audience a knowing look.
This will be Chappelle’s third time as host SNL in the wake of a US election, so I’m sure he’s going to have quite a bit to say on that front.
