Extended families, XXL living (TF1): Amandine Pellissard in a detention center in the Lyon area

Amandine Pellissard, who recently revealed that she risked several months behind bars, is on her way to a detention center in the Lyon area.

Two weeks ago, Amandine revealed a heavy secret. The mother said she risks going to jail because of facts dating back several years. She says: “I have to be hospitalized while pregnant with my sixth child. I find myself in a pathological arrest so I can’t continue working (…) Alexandre, who has been working continuously for over four years at the industrial bakery. He was fired almost overnight, 10 years (…) For several weeks we find ourselves a little choked with no income.” And to continue: “At that time I had no other solution but to steal food from a store for my children”.

“Nothing sucks”

The mother is caught red-handed and taken into custody by the police. She insists she has never stolen more than 200 euros worth of food. But why risk spending some time behind bars? “I chose to defend myself on my own. I took six months off. Not coming to the trial, I think it didn’t work in my favor”, she analyzes. After that decision, she appealed and awaits her next hearing… “I now have a lawyer. I also know that I’m a mother, I work, I’m an entrepreneur, and they have sentences for less than a year’s sentence adjustments,” explains Alexandre’s wife. And the bottom line: “I didn’t have to do that. I’m definitely not looking for excuses. Even if I had reasons to steal food at the time, it certainly wasn’t an excuse.”

Yesterday, Thursday, September 29, the mother of eight announced that she will go to a “detention center” in the Lyon area on October 20. To take a possible penalty? No! The 30-year-old wants to “argue with young inmates.” He explains that before he got to where he is, “it wasn’t always easy, it was far from him” and that’s why he wanted to go to give these young people hope in the future. “I think it’s important to remember that nothing is done for nothing, nothing is lost. There is always time to get out of this and get out of the game,” he insists. And in conclusion: “I find it really important, it’s not enough just to involve people with a difficult past like me. It would be interesting for others to do that”.
