In 1996, Wes Craven, father of bogey Freddy, with Scream (English for “scream”), a mix of dark humor, gore, and circumstantial Claws of the Night (1984) changed the codes of horror cinema to have fun with it. A serial killer and a group of teenagers know the classics of the genre by heart and use them, one to kill, the other to survive. Three films will follow (from 1997 to 2004) on the same concept.

From start to finish, you wonder who is behind Ghostface’s mask. This scary and sad plastic face is the biggest discovery of the series. Despite being a must-have at Halloween parties, it wasn’t made for the movie. While scouting, it was producer Marianne Maddalena who found a copy from a special series launched by American manufacturer Fun World in 1991. For the needs of the movie, the features of the original mask were slightly modified, especially inspired by the famous painting. Scream Ghosts of Munch or Betty Boop animated movies.
