Marie Portolano shocked: Top pastry chef, two statues collapsed in the middle of professionals final exam

There was great tension last night on the set of “Best Pastry Chef, Professionals”. In the middle of the final, two pairs of candidates had to face the worst: the collapse of their statues! A blow for the finalists Antoine and Camille and Jérémy and Baptiste.

After two months of intense competition, M6 aired the Best Pastry Chef pros grand finale last night. Finalists Virgilia and Julien, Camille and Antoine, Baptiste and Jérémy fought hard to reach the coveted title of Best pastry chefs. In addition to the trophy, the winners will have the privilege of working with the great Pierre Hermé in making the dessert. The three finalists are an additional motivation to motivate the duo.

But as so often in the series, things don’t go exactly as planned. The first stage of the final really tested the nerves of the candidates. In a competition initiated by 5 prestigious chefs Yann Brys, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, world dessert arts champions Johanne Le Pape and Marie Simon, and world pastry champions Étienne Leroy and Quentin Bailly, the finalists were invited to imagine a respectable dessert. constraints: imposed fruit (figs), use of low GI sweeteners and, above all, the creation of an imposing 80 cm piece of art.

Two tragedies occurred under pressure. Antoine and Camille were the first to face the partial collapse of their work under the bewildered gaze of their host, Marie Portolano. “We’re a little upset, it’s a heavy blow. We knew there was a risk,” says Antoine.

Fortunately, they were able to count on chef Christelle Brua to give them a boost: “Now it’s time to go back. There’s a coin-dropping MOF (editor’s note of Meilleur Ouvrier de France) in the final, the man still came out with the MOF. Because he knew how to get back. Now you have to go. take in the strength needed, gentlemen, ”he told them.

A few seconds later, it is Jérémy who made the mistake of dropping part of his statue. Shocked, it is Marie Portolano who admitted: “He dropped Jérémy’s statue, he dropped the whole hill.

Calm despite the pressure and the blow, Jérémy told the camera: “It’s so frustrating, it hurts. Whatever the cost, we want to have this 80 cm, something homogeneous and beautiful, so we react, we don’t give up”.

Unfortunately, Antoine and Camille will not survive this disaster and will be eliminated on the verge of the final test.

Valrhona’s pastry chefs Baptiste and Jérémy won Best pastry chef season 5 of the pros against Virgilia and Julien.
