The Young And The Restless celebrates its 50th anniversary with visits from past favorites Michael Damian, Patty Weaver and more

Long time CBS fans The young and the restless has something to celebrate on the show’s 50th anniversary: ​​Starting in March, a Who’s Who of former Genoa City favorites will appear on the soap.

From mid-March until the 50th anniversary of the series on March 26 J&R Welcome back:

  • Michael Damian returns as Danny Romalotti. The actor made his J&R debuted as a regular Genoa City rock star in 1980 and left the show in 1998. He reprized the role from 2002–04, 2008, 2012–13 and a holiday visit in December 2022;
  • Patty Weaver returns as restaurateur and Romalotti sister Gina Roma. Before starting his three-decade run J&RWeaver appeared as the popular Trish Clayton days of our lives from 1976-1982;
  • Tricia Cast returns as reformed bad girl Nina Webster. Cast appears first J&R In 1986, she left the show full-time in 2001 and was last seen in a guest appearance in 2021. In 1994, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Young Actress in a Drama Series;
  • Barbara Crampton returns as “colorful star journalist” Leanna Love. Crampton made them J&R debuted in 1987 and returned for one term, most recently in 2007;
  • Veronica Redd reprises her role as Mamie Johnson, “the Abbott family’s surrogate mother.” She played the role first from 1990 to 1995 and then again from 1999 to 2004.

The young and the restless airs weekdays (12:30-1:30 p.m. ET/11:30-12:30 p.m. PT) on CBS and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company in association with Sony Pictures Television.
