“Ginny & Georgia” Takes No. 1 on Nielsen’s US Streaming Charts; “Wednesday” claims its 7th week with billions of minutes

Netflix once again claimed the most titles in the top 10 shows on Nielsen’s US streaming chart for the week of January 2-8. Ginny and Georgiawhose second season debuted on January 5, No. 1 with 2.5 billion minutes watched.

According to Nielsen, the number far exceeds its debut run from February to March 2021 when season 1 was released on the streamer. At that point, the series was watched just one week with more than 1 billion minutes. However, Nielsen doesn’t separate the shows by season, so it’s worth noting that the series doubled its run with the release of Season 2. Still, the series had an impressive debut month, with Season 2 holding the top spot for the past few weeks ratings, according to Netflix.

kaleidoscopeThe eight-part Netflix limited series about an obstacle course was watched for 1.6 billion minutes and was #2 on Nielsen’s list. Wednesday debuted at number 3, adding another 1 billion minutes to the total. Nielsen says the series has been watched more than 21 billion minutes since its November 23 release.

Glass Onion: A Mystery of Blades fell to fifth place this week, falling just short of the billion-minute mark with 935 million minutes watched. Prime Video has joined the list Jack Ryan at number 6. This title brought in a further 918 million viewing minutes.

Peacock also made the card again yellowstone. With 750 million watched minutes, the show took 8th place. The last season of The living dead How Cocomelon, the pale blue eye And Emily in Paris also made the list.
