Netflix International CEO Tesha Crawford joins Universal International Studios

Tesha Crawford, an international Netflix manager who worked on this, among other things The Witcher, Quick Cash and young Wallander, has joined Universal International Studios (UIS) to help with its global script push.

Crawford has taken on the role of London-based SVP of Global Scripted Series and will focus on expanding the studio’s scripted slate in the UK and Europe.

She reports to UIS President Beatrice Springborn and works closely with Kelsey Balance, LA SVP, Global Scripted Series. She will source and package new projects, support talent and lead the UK-based creative team.

Crawford has spent the past six years working on international series for Netflix during a period of the streamer’s growth outside the US. She has recently worked with global franchise companies in London such as: The Witcher and millar world She previously managed the first dedicated team in the Nordics series and was, among other things, responsible for supervision quicksand, Ragnarok, Quick Cash and Young Wallander. The former Superb Entertainment executive first joined Netflix’s Latin America Originals team.

Springborn described Crawford as a “force” and praised her “extraordinary taste and eye for identifying great global talent”.

“We are thrilled to have her join the UIS family and look forward to her and Kelsey building strong momentum to bring even more exciting voices and stories to global audiences,” she added.

Owning a number of international labels, UIS is expanding globally and produces the upcoming Soo Hugh the conspirators, Channel 4 comedy We are LadyParts and the upcoming Sky/Peacock adaptation The Day of the Fox.
