Fanny Cottençon and Didier Bénureau, the new couple from Scenes of Homes: "We’ve been warned of possible criticism, but I’m not interested."

The M6 lineup expands with a new couple: Christine, a sixty-year-old bourgeois played by Fanny Cottençon, and Gilbert, a retired worker and stingy new friend, played by Didier Bénureau.

Tell us about your characters…

Fanny Cottençon: Christine had three husbands and a daughter with whom she had some issues. Gilbert is different from her exes. Bourgeois discovers the joy of working by opening an open-air hotel. She wants to quit and stop pretending. That’s why she’s with him.

Didier Benureau : When she was younger she wouldn’t have approached a man like that. And vice versa. Gilbert is simpler, crude, heavy. He is also sensitive, even if he tries to play macho.

Did you hesitate before accepting? home scenes ?

fanny: A little, because I had already shot in a prime and found the exercise fun but challenging. Very demanding, you need absolute presence and energy. And this is time consuming. We will have to see the length…

Didier: I also asked myself how long this would take because I’m doing shows and writing plays. But we won’t do that until we’re 95! If projects are close to my heart, we always find an arrangement.

Have you dreamed of shooting in a TV series?

Didier: I have not dreamed for a long time, everything is over! (laughs)

fanny: Doing the same thing over and over didn’t interest me before. Even when I went to school alone at the age of 12, I never chose the same path. I cannot bear it except to go and play in the theatre, because there is something of the order of the sacred.

Do you understand your new relationship with the public now?

fanny: No, because there’s a chance I won’t go unnoticed after the makeup and hairstyle is removed! I don’t believe this will change. We’ve been warned of possible criticism, but that doesn’t really interest me.

Didier: Especially since the lovers don’t say so…

Home scenes: Monday to Saturday at 20:30 on the M6
