Students work on lighting and rigging, among other things. “We are seeing tremendous global demand for studio space and with that comes an urgent need for talent to fill the ever-expanding job market,” said Noel Tovey, Managing Director of Sky Studios Elstree. “We couldn’t be happier with our first Content Academy team, but this is just the beginning for us as we strive to become a training ground for young, local people.”
“Great British” Dig producer Strawberry Blond Staffs Up
Great British Excavation Producer Strawberry Blond expanded, hiring a commercial consultant and executive producer and promoting Tom Benson-Geddes to creative director. Strawberry Blond, run by Steve Wynne, said it produced five new series last year, including the Channel 4 format, totaling more than 100 episodes Great British Excavation and that of BBC One The Live Lounge Show. Isabella Zoltowski, a former WME television executive, joins as commercial advisor and will develop relationships with international broadcasters and indie partners. Jess Hamilton becomes head of production, the first from Strawberry Blond, and has been signed by fellow British indie Brown Bob, while Benson-Geddes is replaced by head of development. More people are coming from Benson-Geddes, Strawberry Blond said. “Despite everything we got through last year, we managed to produce over 50 hours of television and still had fun,” Wynne said. “We feel very privileged to be able to grow the business after 2023.”
