Russian television broadcaster TV Center has announced release dates for four new drama series launching across its network schedule in September.
The autumn slate begins on September 4 with the premiere of the melodrama The Fugitives, followed on Saturday by the four-part detective mystery Erase from Memory.
The Fugitives centers on a wealthy businessman whose commercial empire collapses into severe debt, forcing him to sell his house and vehicle. To protect his family, the protagonist relocates them to a remote village, leaving his wife and two children to adapt to extreme conditions after a life of luxury.
TV Center is a major federal television channel headquartered in Moscow. The network is widely distributed across Russia, broadcasting a mix of news programming, family features, and serialized procedural dramas.
Secrets resurface in Baltic resort town Zelenogradsk
The Saturday broadcast of Erase from Memory introduces a four-episode detective drama adapted from the novel by Russian author Lyudmila Martova. The plot follows Lika, portrayed by actress Svetlana Katsagadhieva, who suffered childhood trauma after discovering the bodies of her grandfather and a girl named Regina on a bay shore.
Medical treatment and psychotherapy erased Lika's recollections of the tragedy, and her family never spoke of the event. Years later, an adult Lika returns to the coastal city of Zelenogradsk as a successful corporate conflict resolution manager hired to negotiate an agreement between real estate developers and environmental activists, only for her past to return.
Zelenogradsk is a historic resort municipality located along the Baltic Sea coast in Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. Author Lyudmila Martova is known for writing contemporary suspense novels set in provincial Russian settings.
Maria Skuratova stars in back-to-back premieres
The network's September lineup continues on September 11 and 12 with two premieres starring actress Maria Skuratova. On September 11, TV Center will broadcast the two-part melodrama Girl in Search, featuring Skuratova as Masha, a modest librarian searching for her missing half-sister. Screen actress Anastasiya Melnikova also appears in the production.
On September 12, the channel will premiere the four-part detective mini-series Boiling Point. Skuratova portrays Moscow investigator Olga Larina, who visits her friend Katya in the town of Ensk and becomes caught up as a witness to a crime.
Discussing her roles, Skuratova said she found connections to both heroines within herself. She described Girl in Search as a story focused on self-worth and personal growth, tracking Masha's journey from insecurity and seeking approval to personal independence.
Skuratova noted that portraying an investigator in Boiling Point posed technical challenges involving complex legal terminology and lengthy interrogation scenes. She explained that she aims to highlight human vulnerability in her roles, adding that investigator Olga Larina's hardened exterior stems from emotional wounds healed through helping others.
Anastasiya Melnikova is a prominent Russian theater and television actress recognized for her roles in police procedurals. Skuratova has established a career across Russian television film productions.
TV Center will continue airing its autumn drama lineup through the remainder of September.
