Turkey, Abkhazia and Belarus are the most popular countries among Russians for summer holidays in 2026, the Russian Union of Tourism Industry told RIA Novosti.
The top 10 destinations by number of hotel bookings also included Italy, France, Thailand, Georgia, Spain, Armenia and China.
Average nightly rates
Specialists calculated the average cost of a night's stay in each destination. In Turkey it is 12,400 rubles, in Abkhazia 8,000 rubles, in Belarus 10,100 rubles, in Italy 15,900 rubles, in France 18,100 rubles, in Spain 16,500 rubles, in Armenia 8,400 rubles, in Georgia 7,700 rubles, in Thailand 8,600 rubles, and in China 10,400 rubles.
Earlier reports on Russians' spending during the velvet season found that many want to save money on travel during that period, planning longer but cheaper trips.
