Dimitris Papazafiropoulos, a co-founder of Greek women’s fashion brand Toi&Moi, has died. The company announced his passing in an Instagram post paying tribute to the man who shaped the brand’s growth.
In its statement, the company said it was bidding farewell with deep sorrow to someone who left a distinct mark on the people and values of the business. All Toi&Moi retail locations would remain closed until 2 p.m. on Monday, August 3, as a mark of mourning, the company said.
In recent years, Papazafiropoulos had served as chief executive of Toi&Moi, continuing to play a leading role in the company’s development.
Toi&Moi was founded in 1988 and opened its first store in Peristeri in 1991. The company expanded to Ermou Street in 1996 and later partnered with British brand Topshop. It opened a store in Beirut in 2007 and entered Dubai Mall in 2009, before continuing to grow across Greece and Cyprus.
