Five new couples are traveling to the Dominican Republic to test their relationships on reality show Temptation Island 11 ahead of its premiere on Monday, September 7.
Presenter Sandra Barneda will host the upcoming season of the Spanish series, produced by Mediaset, which separates couples in separate villas surrounded by single men and women.
The participants introduced themselves and detailed their personal backstories during the second episode of preview show Rumbo a La isla de las tentaciones, which released on the Mediaset Infinity streaming platform. The couples, whose relationships range from eighteen months to more than eight years, arrive in the Caribbean with unresolved issues including jealousy, insecurity, and past infidelities.
La Isla de las Tentaciones is the Spanish adaptation of the international reality television franchise Temptation Island. Broadcast on Spanish network Telecinco, the show tests committed relationships by placing partners in separate luxury resorts alongside eligible singles.
Nacho and Nayades
Nacho de Borbón and Náyades enter the eleventh season having been together for two years. Nacho is already familiar with competitive television in Spain, having reached the final of Supervivientes 2022, the Spanish edition of the Survivor franchise.
The couple first met at an event for social media influencers in Valencia. Although their mutual attraction was immediate, they did not formalize their relationship until Nacho ended his romance with Paula Colubi, who later appeared as a single tempter on the seventh season of Temptation Island.
Both partners acknowledge that jealousy plays a constant role in their daily lives. Náyades explained that she hopes the experience in the Dominican Republic will strengthen their connection and allow them to take the next major step of moving in together.
Kico and Paula
Kico and Paula arrive in the Caribbean after a year and a half together, seeking to resolve lingering doubts regarding mutual fidelity. Their trust issues began during the early stages of their relationship before clear boundaries had been established, when both individuals engaged in romantic encounters with other people.
Kico explained that what hurt him most was that while his own actions occurred out of habit, he questioned whether Paula acted because she was single or because she truly liked the person, noting that she had slept with her former partner.
Paula admitted that those early circumstances continue to weigh heavily on their relationship and that Kico has not fully restored his trust in her. She noted that according to Kico there had been infidelities on her side but not on his, prompting both to use the show to determine whether they can overcome their insecurities.
Sergio and Paola
Sergio and Paola have been together for two and a half years, a relationship initially shaped by geographic distance. Sergio resided in Málaga on the southern coast of mainland Spain, while Paola lived in Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, keeping them separated by hundreds of kilometers for much of their time together.
Paola explained that one of their primary motivations for joining the cast is to prove to themselves that the years spent navigating long-distance romance were worth the effort. While jealousy is present in the relationship, particularly on Paola's side, Sergio raised additional concerns regarding his own loyalty.
Sergio confessed that he considers speaking with another woman to be a form of unfaithfulness and admitted to having been unfaithful under that definition. The couple also experienced a temporary separation two or three months ago at Sergio's request before reuniting, with Sergio stating that Paola is the only partner who has inspired in him even a minimal desire to start a family.
Ruben and Gema
Rubén and Gema, who have been together for three and a half years and live together, enter the production following severe breaches of trust caused by his past infidelities.
Gema discovered the extent of Rubén's betrayals after finding a written list in which he recorded the women he had engaged in sexual relations with. She explained that discovering the list revealed how many individuals he had been unfaithful with during their relationship.
The revelation left a lasting impact on Gema, who acknowledged that while she is not inherently jealous, she has become insecure because of her partner's past actions. She stated that the show represents a final opportunity for Rubén to prove he has genuinely changed and that no further infidelities will occur.
Nando and Isa
Nando and Isa represent the longest-running relationship of the season, having been together for eight and a half years. Their acquaintance dates back to a First Communion celebration, where Isa first noticed Nando while he was attending with his girlfriend at the time.
The pair crossed paths again several months later when Isa transferred to a new high school, an encounter she described as destiny. However, their eight and a half years together have been marked by repeated unfaithfulness on both sides.
Nando confessed during their presentation that he had been unfaithful to Isa approximately 15 times over the course of their eight-year relationship. Isa admitted to retaliating with her own infidelities, explaining that while she had not been with as many men as many times, her actions were worse because they involved emotional feelings.
Now separated in opposite villas in the Caribbean, Isa stated her main goal is to find out whether Nando has truly changed after nearly a decade together. The eleventh season of La isla de las tentaciones will air its first main episode on Telecinco on Monday, September 7.
