A stray dog attacked and injured several beachgoers at Lefkantio beach in Evia, Greece, on Sunday morning, causing panic among those present, according to information from Evima.
One woman suffered serious injuries to her left hand and right leg. Two elderly holidaymakers who were also on the beach were taken to Chalkida Hospital for medical treatment.
The dog bit both men and women on their hands and legs before continuing to move along the beach, causing alarm among swimmers and local business owners in the area.
Giorgos Tsallas, president of the Vasiliko Community, acted quickly after being informed of the incident. He immediately contacted the relevant services of the Municipality of Chalkideon to request the dog’s removal from the beach in order to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of beachgoers.
