Steven Bradley, 56, and David Oakley, 48, have been sentenced to four years in prison after robbing a convenience store in the United Kingdom, according to a report by the Daily Mail citing Derbyshire Police.
The pair stormed the 24-hour shop armed with a silver imitation handgun. During the raid, they spoke in fake Liverpool accents, addressed each other as Charles, and muttered at the checkout that they had to hurry to catch the motorway to Liverpool.
While at the till, Bradley and Oakley began arguing with each other because they could not decide who would carry the money. After settling their dispute, they stole £4,000 worth of cigarettes, nine bottles of whisky, and £200 in cash before apologizing to the victim and fleeing.
Police search and conviction
Officers tracked down the men several days later. Investigators found that Bradley and Oakley lived just a few minutes' walk from the store and had no real connection to Liverpool. A search of their residence uncovered a large stash of tobacco, the stolen whisky bottles, and a silver air pistol.
In an earlier case, a robber in Scotland failed to hold up a minimarket after store staff laughed at him, before successfully robbing a nearby eatery instead.
