Slow Horses Season 6 Trailer Debuts With Gary Oldman

Streaming service Apple TV has released the first trailer for the sixth season of spy series Slow Horses starring Gary Oldman.

In the upcoming six-episode season, the team of misfit spies led by experienced but troubled MI5 agent Jackson Lamb must discover who is hunting former and current workers from their department.

The new season will premiere on September 16, 2026, with episodes debuting weekly until the finale on October 21. Apple TV has already confirmed that the series will return for a seventh season.

Gary Oldman, known for Dracula, Leon, The Fifth Element, Darkest Hour and the Harry Potter franchise, leads the returning cast. Jack Lowden from Dunkirk, Capone and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power also returns alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, who starred in Four Weddings and a Funeral, The English Patient, Mission: Impossible and Darkest Hour.

Jonathan Pryce, known for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, The Two Popes, The Thursday Murder Club and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, returns to his role alongside Hugo Weaving of The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings franchises.

Saskia Reeves from Nymphomaniac and Luther, Rosalind Eleazar from The Personal History of David Copperfield, Christopher Chung from Doctor Who, Aimee-Ffion Edwards from War of the Worlds, Tom Brooke from Sherlock and Preacher, and Olivia Cooke from Sound of Metal, Bates Motel and House of the Dragon also reprise their roles.

New additions joining the cast for season six include Harry Lloyd, who appeared in Anthropoid and Game of Thrones, Kyle Soller from Poldark, Andor and Bodies, and Myanna Buring from the Twilight franchise and The Witcher.

Slough House background and critical ratings

The show is based on the Slough House series of spy novels by author Mick Herron. The first season premiered in April 2022 and quickly established itself as a critical and popular success, securing its place as an ongoing flagship drama.

In the series, Slough House serves as an administrative dumping ground for British intelligence agency MI5. Agents who have committed career-ending blunders are banished to the department as punishment, where they are assigned thankless tasks with virtually no prospect of returning to mainstream espionage work.

The drama maintains high ratings across major review aggregation services, holding an overall rating of 8.3 out of 10 on IMDb. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a 97 percent approval rating from critics and an 87 percent score from audiences.

Metacritic scores the show at 82 out of 100 among film reviewers, earning a Must-See badge indicating universal acclaim, while general audience reviews stand at a 7.7 out of 10 rating reflecting generally favorable responses.
