Siobhán McSweeney, host of The Traitors Ireland, has once again turned to a roster of Irish fashion labels, from Magee to Karen Millen, to build her wardrobe for the RTÉ series' second season, working with stylist Anne O'Shea to craft her scheming 'Lady Muck' persona.
The former Derry Girls actress is fronting the second run of the ratings-boosting competition series, in which contestants try to root out 'traitors' hidden among the group. Season one was a hit thanks in part to the scheming on screen and to McSweeney's gothic-glam wardrobe, which she used to add layers of innuendo and playfulness to her character.
Expectations for her season two looks were high, and McSweeney and O'Shea have again drawn on an array of Irish designers, vintage sellers and high street labels, producing striking looks with strong Irish accents across the first six episodes.
Episode One
To welcome the contestants, McSweeney wore a sculptural black Magee 1866 Donegal tweed cape lined with deep burgundy taffeta, paired with a full-length tweed skirt featuring 3D bubble detailing.
The bold, avant-garde look came from designer Holly Marie Gallagher, who describes her work as "wearable art made in Donegal." The outfit kept the gothic aesthetic of the show while nodding to Ireland's native tweed-making heritage.
Episode Two
For the second episode, McSweeney paired a rich burgundy Clover cardigan by Ireland's Eye Knitwear with a PVC skirt featuring textural gathering by Mia Walsh Studios, finished off with chunky boots by Sole Bliss.
The Clover cardigan has already had a moment on screen, having previously appeared in the drama series Bad Sisters.
Episode Three
A classic, tailored monochrome look was given an androgynous edge in episode three, with dramatic fringed trousers and a minimal headpiece. The tailcoat and earrings came from Vintage Finds You, the fringed trousers from European designer Julia Allert Brand, the brooch from Delphi Antiques and the headpiece from Michelle Kearns Designs.
Episode Four
Episode four brought a lime-green fair isle knit with a shamrock motif by Black and Beech, paired with purple bloomer-style trousers from Free People and a purple wax-style coat by Irish brand Jack Murphy.
The rustic, agricultural styling was set off by a tractor prop, adding a rural flourish to the outfit's sharp colour palette.
Episode Five
For episode five, McSweeney wore a minimalist black Xenia coat with a dramatic funnel neck and patch pockets, styled with her own trousers.
The look was finished with a brooch from Delphi Antiques and earrings from Vintage Finds You, alongside chunky Sole Bliss boots for a pop of colour.
Episode Six
McSweeney made a scarecrow cameo in episode six, wearing a Barbour-style coat by Karen Millen with a Black and Beech knitted beret and an upcycled, feather-trimmed Magee knit re-fashioned by Zipyard in Swords.
The earthy colours and feather accents nodded to the scarecrow theme, while a vintage brooch from Delphi Antiques added a touch of glamour.
