Russian pop singer Zivert, whose real name is Yulia Zivert, is making her acting debut in the upcoming family comedy Don't Touch Me! Directed by Askar Bisembin, the movie is scheduled to premiere in spring 2027, according to Telegram channel Radiotochka NSN.
Zivert plays a sought-after artist in a plot centered on two scammers, played by Viktor Khorinyak and Valeria Zoidova, who steal from rich and famous targets. Hits by Zivert will also feature on the soundtrack of the film, which includes actors Pavel Derevyanko, Zhanna Epple, and Aleksandr Oblasov.
Casting trends and star shortages
Film critic Roman Grigoryev told National News Service that bringing singers into movies is both a marketing move to reach new audiences and a symptom of a shortage of bright actresses. He said Russia previously had powerful, recognizable figures such as Tatyana Vasilyeva, Tatyana Dogileva, Tatyana Drubich, and Elena Yakovleva, but lacks comparable young stars today.
Grigoryev added that singers often lack professional acting training, which can affect the final result. However, he noted that acting is a logical step for Zivert to broaden her audience, gain publicity, and earn a good fee, adding that producers likely calculated that the commercial project will succeed.
