The former duchess traveled to Melides to stay alongside Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. People who know Ferguson said she loves being a grandmother and would never miss such an important moment for her daughter and son-in-law.
International media reports state that Ferguson is staying at the Brooksbank family residence in coastal Melides. The beachfront property is valued at four million euros. The Brooksbank family splits their time between Portugal and the United Kingdom, spending roughly half the year in each country.
Birth of Third Child in Lisbon
Princess Eugenie, 36, gave birth to a baby girl on August 3 at a hospital in Lisbon. The child is her third offspring and her first daughter. Eugenie and Brooksbank are also parents to five-year-old August and three-year-old Ernest. The public name of the newborn girl has not yet been announced.
Members of the royal family publicly welcomed the birth of the baby, but Ferguson herself released no public statement. The 66-year-old former duchess has remained out of the public spotlight since the scandal linking her to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein emerged. She had previously been staying in luxury chalets between Switzerland and Austria after stepping back from public life.
