Spanish journalist Sara Carbonero has shared a photograph displaying abdominal scars from her recent health problems during a summer trip to Cadiz.
The image, taken during a coastal getaway in southern Spain, focuses on her torso without showing her face. Accompanying the photo, Carbonero wrote that it was a relief when people stopped being defined solely by what had happened to them, adding the hashtag #miestrella to send a message of calm and self-love.

The post emphasized the importance of accepting life events and continuing forward. Carbonero noted that only she knew what it meant to have achieved it following her recent medical challenges.
Messages of support from celebrity friends
The publication prompted numerous messages of affection from followers and prominent figures in Spanish entertainment. Actress Paula Echevarria commented that she loved her friend so much, while television presenter Isabel Jimenez called Carbonero her pretty girl and praised the photograph.
Her close friend Raquel Perera also responded to the image. Perera, who has two children with her former partner, singer Alejandro Sanz, had traveled with Carbonero to Cadiz at the start of the summer. In her comment, Perera wrote that she admired everything Carbonero was.
Summer travels and personal loss
The getaway to Cadiz was part of a full summer itinerary for Carbonero, who spent time in her home town with lifelong friends. This season marked her first summer without her mother, Goyi Arevalo, who passed away in April. Carbonero had previously described her mother as an essential figure in her life, dedicating numerous online posts and messages to her memory.
In addition to her short trip to Andalusia, Carbonero completed a long journey to Quito, Ecuador, accompanied by her partner Jose Luis "Jota" Cabrera.
Embracing physical marks and recovery
This is not the first time Carbonero has shown her physical marks on social media. A few years ago, when she had fewer scars, the journalist shared another photograph of her body following earlier health difficulties.
At that time, Carbonero wrote that she liked what she saw when looking in the mirror while embracing imperfection, describing her body as another way of remembering the path she had traveled.
