Russian Tourist Injured as Hotel Tub Flips in Vietnam

A Russian tourist traveling in Vietnam escaped serious injury after an unanchored hotel bathtub overturned while she was trying to film a video in her room. The incident occurred at the Cicilia Rouge Dalat hotel in the highland resort town of Da Lat, according to a report by Russian Telegram channel Shot Proverka.

The traveler had booked the room for a birthday getaway, paying 20,000 rubles per night for accommodation featuring a bathtub with views over the surrounding mountains. She had traveled inland to Da Lat after spending time in the coastal resort city of Nha Trang.

According to the victim, she climbed into the empty bathtub to record an aesthetic video clip for social media. When she attempted to stand up to leave the tub, the entire fixture suddenly tipped over onto its side.

Although the woman managed to protect her head and back as the bathtub fell, she sustained a bruised big toe in the mishap. It was later discovered that the bathtub had not been secured or bolted to the floor.

Hotel response and repairs

Hotel staff offered repeated apologies to the guest following the accident. Employees delivered cocoa and small gifts to her room, though they were unable to explain why the fixture had been left unstable. Management immediately dispatched a technician to the room to inspect and fix the bathtub.

Tourist safety concerns

Da Lat is a popular destination in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, situated inland from Nha Trang. The city is known for its cool mountain climate and scenic landscapes, attracting tourists from around the world.

The report comes after a separate incident involving Russian travelers in the country. In that earlier case, tour guides allegedly abandoned a Russian tourist who suffered a head injury during an excursion, denying him assistance and refusing to refund his money.
