Radio Televisión Española has appointed journalist Carmen Pérez Cledera as the new director of its Navarra center during a regional delegation overhaul. The public corporation is reshaping its regional network structure under a broader plan to renew its local offices and strengthen proximity reporting.
Pérez Cledera replaces Javier Izu Otermin in the position. The move closes a professional cycle for Pérez Cledera at the same location where she started her career at the corporation in 1987.
Her career with the public broadcaster spans nearly four decades. She holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country and has held responsibilities across multiple divisions of the network.
Pérez Cledera previously worked at Radio Nacional de España, the Interactive Media division, and the news department at Torrespaña. At Torrespaña, she served as weekend international coordinator and worked on the editorial team for Los Desayunos de TVE, before spending recent years focused on regional political coverage.
Canary Islands Regional Leadership Change
The appointment at the Pamplona office follows a similar change made days earlier at RTVE's production center in the Canary Islands. Miguel Ángel Guerra assumed the directorship in the archipelago, replacing Francisca González.
Guerra is a journalist from Gran Canaria who has been linked to the public entity for more than 15 years. Until his new appointment, he served as head of Televisión Española's news unit in the archipelago.
Newsroom Experience and Major Event Coverage
Educated at the Complutense University of Madrid, Guerra has a multidisciplinary background at Canal 24 Horas and the central Telediarios newsroom. He has also worked across various national and regional television networks.
During his operational career, Guerra coordinated coverage of major events for the public broadcaster. His work included covering the volcanic eruptions on El Hierro and La Palma, the Campanar building fire, and the DANA floods in the Valencian Community.
