RTVE Confirms Junior Eurovision 2026 Broadcast Plans

Spanish public broadcaster RTVE will air the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest live on La 1 and RTVE Play while launching a dedicated commercial sponsorship package for the event. The details were first reported by news outlet ESCPlus España after obtaining access to a commercial dossier created by the public media company.

The 24th edition of the children's song competition will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Ta' Qali, Malta. The main show will start at 21:00 CEST, marking an unprecedented change as its start time matches the traditional prime-time slot of the main Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in history. RTVE indicated that placing the event in prime time creates a peak viewing opportunity and could expand audience exposure.

Sponsorship rates and digital ad packages

According to information from ESCPlus España, RTVE set a base sponsorship package for Junior Eurovision 2026 at 27,400 euros plus value-added tax. The commercial offer includes advertising placements across La 1, Clan, and RTVE Play, alongside broadcasts in the Canary Islands.

The campaign features two specialized digital advertising options on RTVE Play. The ad pause format costs 12,600 euros plus tax, while the first impact option is priced at 25,000 euros plus tax. Both digital choices aim to reinforce brand visibility on RTVE Play and complement traditional spot advertising on television.

For the digital platform, the package provides 300,000 non-skippable 20-second video ad impressions. These announcements will play before, during, and after content connected to the contest, including rehearsal clips, interviews, and special feature videos as well as the main show.

Children's channel Clan and broadcast spots

The inclusion of Clan in the sponsorship strategy reflects its strong appeal among child and youth audiences. Figures cited by ESCPlus España show that the 2025 edition achieved a 14.30 percent viewing share among children aged 4 to 12 and a 12 percent share among viewers aged 13 to 24.

In the lead-up to the event, RTVE will run 10-second sponsorship bumpers on both La 1 and Clan. The plan allocates 25 insertions to La 1 and 50 insertions to Clan, with broadcasts starting at least one month before the show.

On the night of the final on October 24, 2026, the commercial plan includes four sponsorship title bumpers and two 20-second advertising spots paired with broadcast breaks. RTVE plans to combine traditional network broadcasts with dedicated digital content on RTVE Play to maximize reach among younger viewers.
