Romeo Beckham has been given a new promotional look ahead of his acting debut, after StudioCanal released a fresh image from the queer tennis romance film Forty Love. The 24-year-old son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham appears on court with a shaved head and a black tank top, standing on the opposite side of the net from his co-star Paul Kircher.
Kircher, also 24, plays Sacha Gallo, a 21-year-old rising tennis star who has been coached by his father since childhood. Sacha and his father share a dream of winning his first title, a goal complicated by the arrival of Romeo's character, described as a "charismatic new rival" who enters Sacha's world.
In the image, Sacha wears a white vest top and headband and looks intensely across at his competitor, who stares straight ahead as the pair walk off the court.
The photograph was shared by StudioCanal, whose caption read: "A new look at Forty Love. A film by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, starring Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet, Romeo Beckham - making his on-screen debut - Benjamin Voisin, and Catherine Deneuve."
Character Details and Release Date
Romeo's character has not yet been named, but it has been confirmed he will speak both English and French throughout the film.
Forty Love is set to open in French cinemas on November 25, ahead of an international release. A synopsis for the film states that Sacha, for the first time, "faces an opponent of an entirely different nature, love. A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing, and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court."
Behind the Camera
The film is directed by fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti and produced by Hugo Selignac's Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, with StudioCanal co-producing.
An earlier first-look image, released in June, showed Romeo gazing intensely at Kircher, with his neck tattoos and two earrings on display. The film has been described as having "a rare tenderness, melancholy and strength."
Selignac called it a "sensual, romantic and deeply moving fable and coming-of-age story" about the demands of high-level sport and "everything that lies beneath the surface," led by what he called outstanding performances.
Chloe Marquet, head of international sales at StudioCanal, said Carlotti's "singular visual language gives the film a real edge," adding that its exploration of desire, competition and identity would resonate with audiences worldwide.
From Football Pitch to Fashion Runway
Romeo's career has so far comprised modelling and football. He has spent several years modelling for major luxury brands, including Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, and is a long-time Burberry muse.
He also had a spell playing football, following in his father David Beckham's footsteps.
In October 2024, when he was 22, Romeo made his runway debut at Demna's spring/summer 2025 Balenciaga show in Paris. The following season brought a surprise cameo at Milan Fashion Week, where he walked the Versace autumn/winter 2025 show.
A Different Kind of Nepo Baby
The film marks a striking career move for Romeo, who has previously had stints in football, tennis and modelling. He is not the first famous child to move into acting: Maya Hawke, daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, and Lily Collins, daughter of Phil Collins, both went on to build major careers of their own.
Despite the nepo baby label and an estimated net worth of $5 million, Romeo appears determined to make a name for himself beyond the Beckham brand. He has been described as a "grafter" keen to let his work speak for itself.
A source told The Sun: "Romeo has long been in demand for film and TV roles, but he made sure to do the work before putting his name to anything." The source continued: "This film will show people what Romeo can do. He is an impressive actor and this is a great starting point for him. Romeo is a grafter."
